The Hyper Single Clutch is designed for cars with moderate modifications that do not require the capacity of a multi-plate clutch.

These clutches features a purple anodized, forged aluminium cover, which is more rigid than a stamped cover for greater lever ratio and lower pedal efforts. There's no clamp load deflection.

The clutch includes a chromoly steel flywheel, combination of cerametallic & organic friction facing, and a sprung centre damper disc assembly. Additionally, the pressure plate has turbine-like vanes to enhance cooling and increase wear life.

      Light Weight and Low Inertia Design

      The effectiveness of the clutch system can be judged by its inertia, which is its ability to keep rotating after the engine stops providing torque. Lower inertia of the clutch disc can result in better up and down shifting, as well as improved engagement and disengagement. Generally, a measure of sufficient inertia is best for the good functioning of the clutch disc.

      A friction coefficient is high, low wear , and a special heat-resistant material has been incorporated to allow for a smaller clutch size, resulting in a lower mass inertia and improved gear shift response. Furthermore, a stronger and smaller damper disc has been specially designed to increase the life of the Hyper Single clutch.

       

      Different Types of Hyper Multi 

      EXEDY has developed different variances of the Hyper Multi Clutch, sometimes for the same application. Some Hyper Multi Product codes have a suffix of two characters which have a different meaning (HD, HR, SD, SR). For example the mitsubishi Evolution V has two options for the Hyper Multi Twin clutch. MM022SD and MM022HD.
